Ina York
Project Facilitator
“To be able to teach literacy in a village without a school, to connect groups from the States to help meet some of the basic needs of those in the village, to have the privilege of working with nationals to start a church, these are just a few of the rewards of following God to Cercadillo,” said Ina.
Ina is originally from northeast Missouri. She graduated from Hannibal-LaGrange Collegeand Southwest Baptist Universitybefore earning a Masters in Education from the University of Iowa .
Ina has over 20 years of experience in education, primarily as a special needs teacher. She has taught in South Korea, Iowa, Missouri, Maine and Massachusetts, and is now teaching in Cercadillo.
Brigida Peralta
Ministry Assistant
Brigida has been volunteering with us for the past six months and was a key person in continuing the work in the village while Ina was in the States in the fall of 2010. She has 12 years of experience working with children and has many administrative skills, ministry in Cercadillo.
Brigida is from Villa Mella, RD and has graduated from UASD, a Dominican university, with a degree in marketing. She has traveled to the US and completed a study abroad English program in India. She directs the International Language Institute in Villa Mella, leads a children’s ministry in Yamasa, and sells car insurance as well as being a very active member of her church, Iglesia Bautista Internacional!
